I have a Master's degree in Mathematics Education and I currently hold a 6-12 certification in Mathematics. I also am considered a highly qualified teacher in the subject of Algebra as well as a few other subject areas.
I currently hold a Master's Degree in Mathematics Education. My courses included Single and Multivariable Calculus, Statistics, and a few other courses. I maintained a 3.9 average in those courses and carried a 4.0 in Single Variable calculus at the undergraduate level. College Algebra is a requirement for all of the calculus courses.
I am able to teach Algebra 2 at the highschool level since the original purpose of my degree was to teach high school mathematics. I have exceled at math for most of my academic career. I have experience teaching adult students as well and thus this course fits well with College Algebra.
I have a degree in Computer Engineering and after learning Fortran and Pascal, C was my first non procedural language. I used C throughout my academic career as many of my programming courses were based on this language. Though I find myself primarily coding in Java, the constructs that I learned in C have never left me. The biggest differences between the languages (Java vs. C) is that in C you are required to manage memory and there is not such thing as object oriented without some special circumstances. This course is no longer taught in many universities, but for those of you who still need assistance I am more than willing to assist.
With a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, this was my first exposure to object-oriented programming. I will admit that the transition from C to C++ was a bit difficult for me, it may not be for you...but honestly even though in our lives we are surrounded by objects the amount of trouble you can get yourself into using inheritance, the idea of using interfaces and polymorphism in C++ could drive anyone insane. It's not and that's why Java exists, to protect developers from themselves.
I however still love the power that C++ offers and miss developing in it full-time so I hope there are some students out there who will help me relive the great old years of undergrad. Keep in mind, once you have mastered the concepts of a procedural language, native c, assembler and an object-oriented language there isn't a language that will be able to stump you ever. Multiple Inheritance is AWESOME...though you probably don't think so right now and that's why I'm here to help.
By the way, I earned a B+ or better in my C++ courses.
I maintained a 4.0 in undergraduate single variable calculus. Taking the course for math teachers at the graduate level, I maintained a 3.9 in calculus at the graduate level. This is the class that keeps me on my toes, so I look forward to tutoring you or your student.
I have a degree in computer engineering and I have been programing in C, C++, Java, TCL, etc for over 16 years. I have been a private consultant, for the past 6+ years. I regularly train junior developers and was placed on many projects for the purpose of mentoring junior developers.
Both my bachelor's and master's degrees required this course. I received a B in both classes. Much of what I do professionally as a computer programmer requires the use of this information. The reasoning and mathematical logic are what I use to help ensure my programming algorithms are efficient and accurate.
My favorite course during undergrad was my digital logic course. Since I took it during the summer which was only a 6 week class I earned a B, however I am confident that if I had taken it during the regular school year I would have aced it. Logic is one only one part of Discrete Mathematics which I have also done well in and logic is also a requirement for effective programming. I have been using my understanding of logic in the work place for over 16+ years and I look forward to helping you understand it as well. And, Nand, Xor and Or gates are AWESOME!
