I am a junior at Duke University majoring in biology, pre-med with a minor in education. I graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Houston, TX in 2011 and was Valedictorian of my class. I have tutored all through high school with students grades 7th-11th in reading, writing, math, biology, and chemistry. At Duke I have taken three service-learning education courses through which I have worked in Durham Public Schools with students and learned tutoring skills and techniques. In addition, I work at an elementary school eight hours a week year round with 1st-5th graders in literacy and math. I love working with children and helping them succeed in their schoolwork. I am a firm believer that learning should be fun and I enjoy more than ever passing that joy and love for learning on to my students.
