Teaching is something that I have long been passionate about. After I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in History Education, I wanted to see where the degree would take me and ended up teaching English at a technical school in rural China for three years. I have traveled a great deal, been to many cities where history actually took place, and love to share stories and experiences that make textbooks come to life. I also have a love for English, particularly English as a second language, which only grew as I worked with my Chinese students. So much so, that I decided to pursue a masters degree in TESOL which I am currently finishing. I think that all education should be immediately useful for the student, whether that is in regards to conversational English or an upcoming history exam, while at the same time be interesting and able to spark future pursuit of knowledge in the student.
