Hello all! I am a graduate student at Western Carolina University in the Master's of Public Affairs program. I completed my undergraduate degree at WCU with an honors degree in Political Science and Spanish. I have had a passionate interest in the studies of Spanish, law, government, and English since high school. Last summer, I traveled to South America to study Spanish language, culture and history, which was extremely beneficial to me as a tutor, as well as the most rewarding experience of my life. I have experience as a tutor at the college level in the study of Political Science, and at the elementary and high school levels for students studying Spanish, as well as those to whom English is a second language. I graduated a member of the Honors College, have been recognized on the Dean's List for 7 consecutive semesters, and won awards in my department for outstanding achievement. My tutoring philosophy maintains that anything can be learned-- it's the desire to do so and the means to do it that count. Whether it be a new subject of interest, or a need to boost one's GPA, the desire must be provided by the student. As a tutor, I believe I can help provide the means. I have experience teaching more than merely the required material, but also important habits: study skills, research and investigative techniques, paper writing and proofreading. As a recent college graduate, I am able to identify with the student perspective, and hopefully, be the most effective tutor I can be.
