I love math, and I love tutoring. I have been tutoring since high school, and tutored in the University of West Georgia's FYRST (First Year Resident Student Tutor) program for a full academic year. I tutored all freshman studies, primarily focusing on English/Writing and Chemistry, but I also tutored whatever areas the students needed. Afterwards, I became a tutor with Richmond County, GA, for a No-Child Left Behind program for two years as an in-home tutor. The focus was on preparing students for standardized tests under the State Curriculum, and passing state-set benchmarks.
I was also Program Director/Camp Coordinator for a non-profit Community Center in Georgia for two years. I was responsible for building the program to assist with the after-school tutoring needs of inner city children. This included building lesson plans, training instructors, and monitoring progress reports. As Camp Coordinator, I was responsible for the proposal, planning, and development of educational camps that involved mentoring the students, as well as maintaining the head count for the up-coming academic year. Now that I am relocating to Charlotte, I want to continue tutoring. I can do remote tutoring via the internet using a variety of programs and applications, or in-home.
