I'm 27, recently relocated to Charlotte after four years in southern California and nine months on a cross-continent road trip! I'm a writer and hope to publish my second book of wanderings later this year. I've tutored math
for students of all ages for four years.
My senior year of high school I tutored algebra
students as a teacher's aide. I passed five AP tests in high school: US History
, US Government, English
& Composition, English & Literature
, and AB Calculus
. I scored a 710 on the math section of the SAT
and graduated as my high school's valedictorian with a 4.1 GPA.
I started college as a math major but ultimately settled on an English degree because of my passion for writing. I graduated from the University of Georgia with cum laude honors in 2009.
During my four years in southern California I group-tutored at a middle school and several learning centers, and I also tutored dozens of students one-on-one. Additionally, I've worked with pre-teens and teenagers at youth camps for three summers, interacting with students of all personality types. I've loved working with youth in academic/recreational settings alike!
I've tutored second graders to college freshmen, primarily focusing on pre-algebra
, algebra, geometry, and SAT math
/verbal/writing. I was trained as an SAT tutor at one of my learning centers, so I have some resources and know all the tips and strategies for success.
If you're looking for an experienced diversified tutor, it'd be my joy to help your student!

One month ago I relocated from northeast Georgia to southern California, hoping for a fresh new start on life. When I moved out here I honestly had no inclinations toward tutoring. I thought I would get a job in retail or working at a bank or fitness center
or some other random place of employment. But as the days and weeks progressed it became apparent to me that I should pursue tutoring....
