Seven years of experience using advanced computer techniques to achieve real goals in business administration and operations management. Four years of experience in graphic arts.
Two years of experience with Access Midstream, a pipeline company in the Marcellus Shale (Jane Lew, WV). Five years of management experience as an officer in the US Coast Guard, both afloat and in an operations center.
I'm an "Excel guy" and "Access guy" -- I've used advanced user interface design with Visual Basic for Applications to create tools that some of our extremely nontechnical pipeline workers can use to integrate field reports into business data. I've used VBA hand-in-hand with both tools. I've used CGI/Perl to build a dynamic website for a motorcycle club. I used Adobe Photoshop for years with the family publishing business and still use it regularly to add an extra flair to business presentations and personal projects.
I'm a newlywed, newly moved to Pittsburgh. I'm definitely a hobbies and crafts kind of guy. I like motorcycle riding, AMC dramas, playing piano with my church praise band, drawing comic books, reading Popular Mechanics, running, martial arts, woodworking (or really anything with power tools), and board game nights with friends. I can quote the Star Wars movies from memory. I was homeschooled through high school and am still pretty close with my eight brothers and sisters despite our geographic dispersion. My circle of friends at the moment are mostly the down-to-earth folks around my own age from church.
I grew up around computers and small business, working with my parents to publish a magazine. By the age of 18, I had sold advertisements, spoken at conventions, become proficient in graphic arts, learned a programming language, and served as editor of a magazine with a print run of 25,000 copies every two months. All that, a high school education, and even some long summer days at the neighborhood pool.
