¡Saludos! Greetings! By trade, I am a high school teacher of English
, and other secondary subjects. By interest, I love traveling and exploring other cultures, food, and dance. I have lived abroad for a time in Murcia, Spain and in Balfate, Honduras. I use a mixture of methods to teach language
, based on the concept that we learn our native language as babies beginning with auditory response, followed by "babbling"/repeating vowel sounds, followed by consonant sounds, and then later, learning to recognize written symbols and learning to form grammatically-correct sentences. I love contextual learning and have experienced the benefits first-hand.
I have translated professional texts, helped proofread and edit texts in both English and Spanish, and have taught struggling students to improve their organizational, study, and writing
habits/skills. I have long been a grammar
geek, so if you are struggling with identifying/manipulating grammar or pronunciation, I would love to work with you!
Si necesita Ud. ayuda en sus estudios del inglés...o del español...me gustaría mucho en trabajar con Ud. Soy una maestra de ambas lenguas, y así que he estudiado extensivamente la gramática de la lengua como una extranjera y como una maestra de la gramática de mi propia lengua, estoy segura que podría proveer una perspectiva útil para entender mejor. Me he inmersado en la cultura hispana y latina durante la década pasada, y sigo aprendiendo.
Thank you for your consideration! ¡Gracias por su consideración!
