Hi! I recently graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy and have experienced many types of teaching strategies throughout my education. My belief is that every student learns differently and I'd love to help! I like to make things as simple as possible to understand, because why makes things more complicated than necessary?
My favorite subjects to teach are medical surgical nursing, pharmacology, pathophysiology, anatomy, and any type of science. I received "A's" in all of my nursing classes and took extra initiative by becoming ACLS and PALS certified. Through my experience working on both a telemetry unit and in the operating room, I have become proficient at analyzing nursing situations and using my clinical knowledge in practice. I enjoy helping others think critically regarding patient care and have been involved in several study groups in the past.
I have just passed my NCLEX and I now have a thorough understanding of how that exam can word questions to confuse students, and I believe I can help future students learn how to dissect such questions. I also received a 31 on my ACT in high school and feel comfortable teaching those subjects. When fellow students and my younger cousins had difficulty studying for the ACT I assisted them with study techniques and content based help. In high school I also took a total of 7 AP classes and tested in 6 of them, meaning that I did not need to take those courses in college. I received a college grade of "A" in all those classes - AP Language and Composition, AP Literature, AP Biology, AP Government, AP European History, AP American History, and AP Calculus.

I received a total of 31 on my ACT, but also excelled in AP Language and Composition and AP Literature in high school. These were college level courses that allowed me to test out of my English requirements once I started school at the University of Detroit Mercy.
I have recently passed my NCLEX examination and have been reviewing how such questions are worded for the past three years in school. I am familiar with how the questions are worded to confuse the student, and how to pinpoint the essential information to choose the right answer.
I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with my BSN from the University of Detroit Mercy. I had an overall GPA of 3.78 and received "A's" in 95% of my nursing courses. I have worked on a telemetry unit and in the operating room (both in MI and NY) as a student nurse, and now in the NICU as an RN. I feel very comfortable explaining concepts and how the nurse should respond in situations.
I had to take a nutrition class as part of my undergraduate curriculum and received an "A" in the class. Charts have proven helpful to me in determining which vitamins are essential for which types of patients, and which foods to find such minerals in. Nutrition is a tough subject to learn and I would like to help others understand the information easily.
I had to take pharmacology as part of my undergraduate curriculum and received an "A" in the class. I have come up with charts and rhymes to help me remember antidotes for drugs, and clues on how to remember classifications for drugs. For example, MONA is used to treat a myocardial infarction. (Morphine, Oxygen, Nitroglycerin, and Aspirin.) Pharmacology was one of my hardest classes and I would like to help others excel in it. I recently passed my NCLEX and have reviewed pharmacology quite a bit for it, so the information is still fresh in my mind.
I took a sociology class as part of my undergraduate curriculum and received an "A" in the class. I have worked in various departments of hospitals for over two years now and have seen first hand how culture and group norms can affect communication and how people interact with one another. I believe that sociology helps us to recognize how to best interact with others and perhaps why specific cultures practice the traditions they do.
