I can offer you comprehensive training and review in all basic math fields: pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and basic calculus. I earned very high scores on the ACT and SAT science and math sections, and I enjoy using my skills to help other students grasp the necessary concepts for academic success. I have informally tutored friends who have come to me for help with such things as business math and algebra; they have all appreciated my approach and my methods, reporting good improvements in their grades.

Also, I've helped many people at the Yahoo! Answers service, where I have nearly 3,000 "Best Answer" ratings.

I offer similar support and training in several sciences too: physical science & physics, astronomy, and basic inorganic chemistry at high-school level. I am interested in most of the sciences, with a good amount of knowledge accumulated (as attested by my graduating with honors in Information Technology). My teaching approach emphasizes the connectedness of knowledge -- once you know how new things are related to things you already know, you can understand, memorize, and use them more easily. Let's learn!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I scored 34 out of 36 on my ACT math section. I enjoy using and exploring many concepts in mathematics, and helping others to do the same!

Algebra 1

I have helped a dozen or so individual students improve their Business Math and Algebra understanding. I enjoy math and am well skilled in several levels of it (basic algebra through mid-level calculus); this is reflected in very good math scores on the ACT and SAT tests.
I like to help show the student not only what to do, but WHY it is done--such relationships are vitally important for understanding.

Algebra 2

I have a strong interest, and background, in math at several levels, from beginning algebra to mid-level calculus.

I scored quite well in math on the ACT and SAT tests, and have helped many friends and colleagues brush up on subjects such as Algebra and Business Math.
I enjoy helping people learn, and am pleased at their appreciation of the usefulness of my methods.

Calculus

I have a strong interest, and background, in math at several levels.

I scored quite well in math on the ACT and SAT tests, and have helped many friends and colleagues brush up on subjects ranging from beginning algebra to mid-level calculus.

I enjoy helping people learn and am pleased at their appreciation of the usefulness of my methods.

Chemistry

I have a lifelong interest in chemistry, and in general how things are put together. I did well in my high school classes & labs, and enjoy examining and confirming chemical phenomena and their relation to the world at large.
I am working with a university chemistry department to install a large Periodic Table display, with actual element samples to enhance it.
If you're looking to learn more about basic high-school-level chemistry, I'd like to help.

Elementary Math

I enjoy exploring and practicing mathematics, and helping others to acquire the techniques and skills that enable them to deal with the day-to-day world.

I can handle all levels from basic math through algebra, trigonometry, and mid-level calculus.
I would like to help you learn too!

GRE

I maintain an interest in many fields of knowledge, and enjoy both adding to my store of information and helping others to do so. One should never give up on learning!

My college entrance exam scores (ACT and SAT) were very good, in all the areas that they covered.

My teaching methods have been well received and useful, so I believe that I can be of good help to many kinds of students.

Physics

I can help you with Physical Science and medium-level Physics topics. I've been a physics major and am good with the necessary math; my students appreciate my way of helping them link new concepts to established ones.
The typical exactness of the answers in physics is a big help. The questions can seem a little hairy, but I can help you see that they are nonetheless straightforward. Let's learn!

Prealgebra

Sometimes even basic math can pose a challenge---but I can help you meet that challenge.
I enjoy exploring and practicing mathematics, and helping others to acquire the techniques and skills that enable them to deal with the day-to-day world.

I can handle all levels from basic math through algebra, trigonometry, and mid-level calculus.
I would like to help you learn too!
