I am a recent cum laude graduate of Christian Brothers University with bachelor's degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science. I am currently employed as a programmer in the insurance industry. I hail from an impressive line of mathematics professors: my father was a high school mathematics instructor for over 30 years, and my uncle was a Professor of Mathematics at an HBCU in Mississippi. While at CBU, I was employed for two years as a tutor in the Math Tutoring Lab, tutoring students and non-students as well. My typical method is to try to relate the problem or topic to the student's interests.
I have a passion for Mathematics, and I understand that every person does not share my passion. However, I do wish for everyone to have an appreciation for Mathematics. It surrounds us, and we cannot escape it. This mentality is what drives me to associate topics with the student's interests. A lot of people are stuck on how math will be used in the real world, so I try to find a real world application.
