I am a certified high school science instructor with 4 years of teaching experience and 7 years of tutoring experience. I have taught (and offer tutoring services in) Physics, Physical Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science and Geology.
I am graduate of Clark Atlanta University with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics. I am currently completing a second Master's degree in Education. My tutoring technique is very hands on. I believe students grasps concepts, especially in the sciences, more easily when they utilize experiments and demonstrations to help them analyze problems. I do not "spoon feed" students the answers, but I thoroughly guide them to the proper understanding needed to succeed in their studies.
I am a firm believer that students are in control of their academic success. I like the hands on approach because it gives students a chance to fully develop the concepts and to see how all these concepts intertwine. Also, doing small experiments and demonstrations allows students to build problem solving skills and break away from the mundane "plug and chug" routine. Overall, I have high expectations for all students that I assist and thrive on helping others. Greetings,

I am experienced in working with children grades K-6. I can help with homework, test preparation or just basic understanding. Each subject is listed separately below.
Math: I work well with topics such as fractions, basic algebra skills, multiplication tables, double and triple number multiplication and division, carrying decimal places, scientific notations and single and solving for unknown variables. I can also teach students how to count numbers and how to complete basic addition and subtraction operations.
Science: I can help students better understand Earth science, planets and planetary motion and the solar system, phases of matter( solid, liquid, gas), endothermic and exothermic reactions and elementary force problems.
English: I can tutor students in punctuation, capitalization, placing commas, colons and semi colons, parts of a sentence (noun, verb, adverb, adjective, etc...), writing (cursive and manuscript techniques), how to properly write an essay (standard essay format), development of rhetoric, logic, and understanding the main idea of a paragraph or essay.
I am a huge fan of live demonstrations and of making concepts relevant through relatable examples. In addition to the mentioned, I also proofread, can help with grammar, punctuation and other elementary writing skills as well as help with phonics and spelling.
I majored in Physics as an undergrad and am currently pursing a Masters in Physics. Physics is my true passion. I specialize and truly enjoying tutoring in the General Physics courses for high school and college students because this is where the foundation is built for a strong and knowledgeable understanding of Physics and math. However, I also specialize in college physics courses equivalent to Physics I (Mechanics), Physics II (Electricity & Magnetism), Physics III (Optics), and Modern Physics as well as Thermodynamics.
