I have tutored both Mathematics
(as well as Computer Science
) at various levels, from Middle School subjects all the way to both undergraduate and graduate collegiate mathematics courses. Being a research mathematician and scientist at a large national research laboratory, I specialize in helping good students become great at problem solving and analytical thinking, which in turn translates to increased levels of self-confidence in other subjects, as well.
In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student, and providing meaningful examples in addition to home assignments. However, my specific methods vary according to the subject being taught and the learning style and needs of the student.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Master's degree in Applied Mathematics and Ph.D in Mathematical Sciences.

coach, I have a lot of experience in working with kids of all ages and I'm sensitive to their needs and intrinsic cognitive limitations. I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and helping our youth gain better understanding and appreciation of math and science.
