My name is Kevin, and I grew up and live in St. Louis. I have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as well as a Master's degree in aerospace engineering from St. Louis University. My education helped develop my passion and knowledge for math and science.

I'm familiar with many subjects of math, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and differential equations. I also am experienced in physics and chemistry.

I have several years of experience tutoring math to students of all ages (grade school through college level). I've learned that the best way to really understand a topic is get the concept first, then work through examples. I know that math can be very frustrating and confusing. I am patient and encourage a stress free learning environment. I also know that every student is different, so I will adjust my teaching style to meet your needs.

I am flexible if you'd like to meet at a public place or at your home, whatever you'd prefer.

While I love math and science, it is even more rewarding when I can help a student break through and succeed.

Kevin not only knows how to do the math but can teach it and that is exactly what I needed. He is always wanting to make sure you understand what you're doing and why. One of the biggest assets of Kevin is that he always makes time to help. I have needed help on a question and been able to call him up and he'll walk me through it. I would recommend Kevin to anyone needing any help. He helped me in Calculus III and is helping me in Differential Equations. From what I understand, he is very good at many other subjects as well. Highly recommended!

Kevin was knowledgeable and efficient in Excel, and most important, he was on time. I will use him again in the very near future.

Kevin has tutored our son since the beginning of the school year in both algebra II and chemistry. He is patient and explains the material in ways my that our son can understand. We would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs extra help with math and science.

Kevin was very helpful and understood the material well. His explanations were easy to understand and helpful. I would highly recommend Kevin and will request his help again if needed.

Kevin has really helped me to improve my grades in Physics and Geometry. He is great at explaining complicated problems and patiently works through them with me. He even stays longer than the allotted time just to be sure I understand the concepts. I am able to complete my homework and lab reports on a more timely basis, and overall, I feel more confident in class. Even my mom is going to have him help her with some more advanced Excel calculations so that she can improve her efficiency at work. I would highly recommend Kevin as an excellent tutor!

I don't think of my daughter as hard to tutor, but we went through three other tutors before finding Kevin to help us with calculus. One was only willing to tutor in a noisy bookstore coffee-shop. One other seemed to know the subject very well, but had such a strong accent that neither of us could understand him easily.

It was refreshing to find Kevin, who is easy to reach, easy to understand, and very flexible to work with. My daughter's grade has improved, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs math help.

I openly admit that I am not a "natural" when it comes to solving math problems, and knew that I would need some help in preparing to test out of my required math course for college.

Kevin was a great tutor and showed a strong interest and commitment to helping me understand some of the math problems that were throwing me for a loop, and even more helpful with teaching me things I absolutely did not understand. I'm very glad that I decided to go with Kevin as my tutor, he knew how to explain "the math stuff" to me so that it stopped being "math stuff" and became what it is, ways to solve problems.

I definitely recommend Kevin as a tutor.

Kevin has been very helpful as a tutor. He shows patience and gives multiple options while I try to digest the lesson. I am making progress and look forward to each session with Kevin.

Kevin clearly explained Calculus concepts to me and worked out problems step-by-step. He was patient and didn't mind showing me how to work out problems covered in Pre-Calculus which were important for Calculus. I wish I would have known about WyzAnt and contacted Kevin sooner!

Lesson 1

He is very knowledgeable and easy to understand. We went over basic things, some I knew and most I didn't. I have the lesson we worked on to go over. I think our first lesson went well. We have another lesson planned for next week.

Lesson 2

We worked off of a work sheet and that gave us specific things to work on which was very helpful. I feel this session went well and I will practice what we did. Kevin is very easy to work with and explains all the different options that can be used.

Lesson 3

We had a very good lesson. I am feeling more comfortable with Excel after each lesson.

Lesson 4

We had a very good lesson and things are progressing.

Algebra 1,
Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I'm very familiar with all levels of high school math and more specifically, the type of questions that will be on the ACT or SAT. Also, we can go over successful strategies for attacking the math section and to maximize your score.

I'm very familiar with the topics of Algebra I and how to do typical problems on algebra exams. We would cover topics such as: variables, exponents, functions, algebraic properties, linear equations, factoring, rates, and pythagorean theorem. I'm very patient and will work hard to make sure the student learns and succeeds.

I'm very familiar with the topics of Algebra II and how to do typical problems on algebra exams. We would cover topics such as: Equations and inequalties, linear functions, solving systems of equations, quadratic functions, polynomials, radicals, exponents and logarithms, etc.

I am very experienced and knowledgeable in calculus (I, II and III). I understand the concepts and theory as well as how to do most types of problems you will see on exams.

I can help with topics such as: limits, derivatives and applications, integrals and applications, series, parametric and polar functions, and multivariable calculus. I understand that calculus can be very confusing, so I am very patient and work to make sure the student understands in a stress-free environment.

I have bachelor's and master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Not only did I study a full year of Chemistry, but the concepts were applied in many of my other engineering courses such as Materials Science. I have also used these concepts in various points throughout my career.

I have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a Master's degree in aerospace and mechanical engineering. Not only did I take and do well in a Differential Equations course, but I have used differential equations for many applications in numerous subsequent courses and projects. I am familiar with the typical topics covered such as first and second order differential equations, homogeneous and nonhomogenous equations, Laplace transforms, slope fields and Fourier Series. I even have some experience with partial differential equations and where they apply in the real world.

Elementary and middle school math is the foundation for all future math (and science) classes. I take helping younger students very seriously. I understand the basic concepts of elementary math, but more importantly, from my tutoring experience, I know how to communicate and get the point across when a student is confused. I really enjoy seeing a student improve and succeed and lay the groundwork for success in the future.

I'm very experienced and knowledgeable about geometry. I can help with topics such as formal proofs, deductive reasoning, problems with triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, etc.

I have many years working with Word and Excel in my engineering education as well as in my career. Word is a powerful tool with many options that can make a document stand out but look professional. There are many features of Excel that can help you make helpful, organized spreadsheets that allows you to present a lot of information and make it easy to follow. I hope I can help and look forward to hearing from you!

I have multiple engineering degrees. I studied 3 semesters worth of Physics. I have also applied those concepts in many of my other engineering courses such as Mechanics of Materials and Fluid Mechanics. I have also used these concepts during my career.

I'm very familiar with the topics of Prealgebra and how to prepare for exams. We would cover topics such as: variables, lines, algebraic properties, linear equations and working with different forms of numbers (fractions, percents, ratios, proportions, etc). I'm very patient and will work hard to make sure the student learns and succeeds.

I have a lot of experience tutoring high school math but I also know typical questions that will be on the SAT. Also, there are strategies we can use to use your limited test time efficiently.

I am very familiar with the concepts of trigonometry such as the the unit circle, applications of trigonometric functions and graphs of trig functions. I have years of experience tutoring math and know how to explain concepts in several different ways to help the student understand.

Find the normal vector to the plane? (answer)

To find the normal vector to a plane, all we have to do is look at the coefficients So the normal vector is 3i + 2j + 6k

Find the speed of the particle? (answer)

Speed is the magnitude of the velocity function so first we need to find v(t) = r ' (t) r ' (t) = 3e^3t i - 3e^-3t j + (3te^3t + e^3t)k so v(0) = r ' (0) = 3e^0 i - 3^0 j + (3*0e^0 + 3^0)k = 3i - 3j + k so then magnitude of velocity at t = 0 is sqrt(3^2...

Find its position at t=1. (answer)

so if acceleration is a(t) = ti + j + tk velocity is the antiderivative of acceleration, so we just do antiderivative of each term of acceleration a(t) = ti+j+tk v(t) = (1/2t^2+C1)i + (t+C2)j + (1/2t^2+C3)k, where C1, C2, and C3 are the three components...
