I am a graduate student in Education and a private language
tutor for both English
, working with adults and children. (I thoroughly enjoy working with kids!) I am bilingual and have spent a considerable amount of time living, working, and studying abroad in various countries across Central and South America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. I love to learn and I want to share my enthusiasm for knowledge with others! I remember fondly the educators that made the most positive impressions on me; these were the people that made learning fun and interesting, and taught their students that as long as you are making a real effort, your best is good enough and you should be proud of yourself and what you accomplish.
Not everyone learns in the same way, so integrating visual, auditory, and tactile activities is usually the best way to ensure that a person gets the most out of their educational experience. I believe in adjusting my teaching strategies to fit the learning style and intellectual strengths of the student(s) with whom I am working.
I have a passion for language and enjoy engaging others in their quest to learn new languages and perfect their communication skills through reading
, and conversation. I studied language and culture at Webster University (Spanish, Italian
, and French
) and graduated with a BA in Spanish. I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Communication Arts with Emphasis in International Languages and Cultures.
I have used my linguistic skills in a variety of settings such as healthcare, business
, and education working as a translator, interpreter, and language instructor. I have served as a teacher assistant working with preschoolers in a Spanish immersion school, which was a wonderful experience! I have also worked as a long-term substitute Spanish teacher in the public school system, which was an enriching opportunity on many levels. I am currently working as an interpreter and translator for a local non-profit organization
that works with the St. Louis immigrant and refugee population. I am very grateful for my education and many experiences, as well as the opportunity to share what I have learned with others.

Yes, yes, yes indeed! Many of my well-read friends had been recommending that book to me for several years, but I was not really into sci-fi, so I wasn't very interested. Finally, I decided to give it a try. Orson Scott Card is a fantastic writer, eloquent
storyteller, excellent at creating and...
