Do you like anime?
Do you love Jpop?
Do you practice Japanese martial arts
Do you want to have fun learning Japanese?
Let me introduce myself.
I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.
I taught myself English
I went to Sophia University in Tokyo for two years and then I was selected to represent Sophia at its sister school University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Instead of spending one year there as originally planned, I studied there for three years to graduate cum laude with a BA in English with a Certificate in Japanese Interpretation.
For the past two and a half decades, I have been a bilingual professional in various capacities. From 2007 to 2011, I taught Japanese at language
schools in Boston. Since moving to Saint Charles, Mo, I have been teaching Japanese at home and at a local language school.
I have developed my own materials to go along with the Japanese for Busy People textbook series. I am patient, enthusiastic, and have a sense of humor. I believe that learning can be and should be fun. You will have an intense session of drills based on visual cues. You will find yourself talking in Japanese most of the time. I am not a teacher who writes on the blackboard all the time. In fact, I seldom if ever use it.
Having taught myself English I know what it's like to learn a foreign language
. I will introduce hiragana, katakana, and kanji depending on your desire and level.
I look forward to meeting you, teaching you Japanese, and sharing with you my wealth of knowledge about my culture.
