Dear Parents and Students,
My passion for educating others stems from educators who helped me succeed. Integrity, knowledge, dedication, flexibility and strong analytical skills is what is at the core of my teaching believes.
My instructional style is: understand-quantify-analyze-simplify-explain.
International experiences improved my methods because life and education in Europe and America exposed me to different teaching and learning styles. I picked the most effective methods and practices and incorporated them in my instruction.
An example of my efficiency is a GED student who previously passed all of the portions of the test except math. After the student went through 2 semesters of formal GED classes I was assigned to tutor the student in April 2013. Student's math scores increased from non-passing 390 in March to 490 points in May 2012 (420 was enough to pass) after one month of using my method. Student has since completed three semesters at the Community College.
Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics and two semesters in Teacher's Education Program equipped me with the necessary knowledge content and pedagogy. I am classified as Highly Qualified Educator in the state of Missouri. (Praxis II and degree in content area)
During the five years of service in public schools, I taught Trigonometry, Geometry, ACT Prep class, high school remedial mathematics, coordinated Family Literacy Program, taught adult computer classes, GED lessons, enrolled students and provided parent support services for new refugee and immigrant families arriving to US. At the university I often volunteered in mentoring lab tutoring business majors in calculus concepts and other math-related subjects.
