I'm a retired college professor who, after more than 25 years in the classroom, can't give up teaching. I have a doctorate from Tulane University in English literature and last taught at Lindenwood University in St. Charles for 20 years. I have taught all forms of writing as well as world literature and 18th-, 19th-, and 20th-century British literature. I am also fluent in German and taught elementary, intermediate, and advanced German language couses.
My philosophy is that everyone can learn with the right motivation, and I try to use the student's own interests as a way into the material. I also have a good sense of humor and try not to take myself too seriously. That doesn't mean that I am not passionate about what I teach, however. I take a genuine interest in the material, but I am completely focused on the student's needs and ultimate success.
