I taught math for approximately 10 years and the last five years have tutored math. I would be qualified to tutor grade school math through College Algebra and have worked with many students at all of these levels. My students and their parents have been very appreciative of the help that I've offered. I have received many notes from the parents expressing this. I am a very patient and encouraging teacher that feels that one of the major components my success is giving the student the confidence that they can learn the material. It is amazing the difference that one-on-one instruction can make. An example of one method that I use for students that have trouble learning their multiplication facts, is to use something called "skip-counting." It seems to work for students that cannot recall the facts by memorization.
I have had a background check performed by the schools that I taught in for 14 years and I also work with children at my church, who has also done a background check. I could refer you to those locations upon request.
