I have had a variety of experiences with youth throughout my career. I have run recreation programs, run and worked in after school programs, worked with special needs children in a summer day camp setting, and have been a substitute teacher. The fact is I love working with kids and get a great deal of satisfaction helping them to overcome any obstacles that present themselves. I grew up with undiagnosed ADD, so I know how it feels to not be able to focus or just not "get it". I spend much of my free time writing as a tool to conquer my own struggle with ADD, from poetry to songs that may or may not ever be heard by anyone else. I have a teaching degree, but have found that my calling is more about helping struggling students. I feel like I have a better understanding because I have been in their shoes. Let me help your child overcome the odds by sharing my own examples and having a great time learning together.
