I have a BA in Special Education, K-12 at William Woods University in December of 2012. I am currently performing and excelling in my student teaching experience at Mexico Middle School. I am an enthusiastic, versatile, and dedicated child advocate with a solid focus on the individual needs of students. I am a responsible, compassionate professional with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. I hold the knowledge and wisdom that is essential in establishing and maintaining an appropriate rapport. At Mexico Middle School, Mexico High School and Centralia Intermediate School I have demonstrated success in providing a comfortable and proficient learning environment by implementing personalized motivational strategies along with differentiated instruction. I actively create and apply individualized and small group lesson plans for students with learning disabilities. Formally, I have administered tutoring sessions with middle school and elementary students one-on-one in the area of reading fluency and comprehension; as well as the common core subjects. Tutoring is an effective program to assist students in becoming confident, independent learners. Tutoring allows me the opportunity to encourage and guide students in establishing self goals and enthusiastically recognize accomplishments which holds a great value in my personal teaching philosophy.
