Konnichiwa! Are you looking for a tutor who has actually experienced Japan? I have 30 Japanese language credit hours from UMSL and four years experience of living abroad in Japan. Wouldn't it be nice to know why you say things or do things a certain way with the language while learning it? That's where my experience comes in handy.

Besides just the language, I have studied Japanese literature and poetry, both modern and ancient. I am especially familiar with the mythology and religion. This culture can go hand-in-hand with learning Japanese language, making it fun as well as practical.

I look forward to being a window into the language and culture of Japan.

With my history of strict English teachers, I can say that my spelling and writing skills are more than passable. My vocabulary is expansive and my experience writing decent research papers is evident in my passing scores. English was always a strong suit for me.

Japanese

I have intermediate level conversation skills in Japanese. I can read and write hiragana and katakana with ease. Kanji are a bit more difficult, considering there are several thousand to memorize. The first step toward mastering a language is speaking it. It is a notional functional approach.

Elementary Science

In high school I took chemistry, college chemistry, physics, physical science, biology, earth science and meteorology. My high school was a gold star A plus approved school, meaning we average 21 on our ACT scores and that the classes were challenging.

Anthropology

I completed a BA in Anthropology at the University of Missouri St. Louis in 2007. A degree in Anthropology consists of classes that cover an array from ancient human history, biological human studies, and concepts of race and evolution. If proof thereof needs to provided, I can scan my diploma and send the image through the proper channels to WyzAnt.
