I am a recent college graduate with bachelor’s degrees in math and physics, a dedicated student and an experienced tutor. As a tutor, I emphasize the basic unity of diverse topics in math and physics and work to develop students’ problem solving skills. This approach makes both subjects more coherent and allows students to tackle a wide range of problems.
My deep interest in physics and math and my motivation in academic pursuits are reflected in my undergraduate record. Graduating summa cum laude from Washington and Lee University, ranked in the nation’s top fifteen liberal arts colleges by U.S. News, I earned the Williams Prize in Mathematics and Reese Prize in Physics. These awards recognize superior academic performance among majors in mathematics and physics, respectively. While working through advanced courses in these fields, I maintained familiarity with lower division courses by regularly tutoring students in calculus, discrete math and general physics.
I really enjoy math and physics and the challenge of adapting my teaching to students' learning styles. It is my firm belief that through hard work and good instruction, anyone can succeed in these subjects. Whether you desire a more fundamental understanding of these subjects, improved academic outcomes or both, I promise to commit myself to helping you achieve your goals.
