I am a licensed and experienced K-12 Spanish Teacher. I studied Spanish Education and Child and Family Studies at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and studied abroad in Segovia, Spain for one semester. After graduation, I taught English as a visiting professor at a university in Mexico City. I then spent four years teaching 8th World Language in a suburban middle school and one year teaching 3rd-6th grade Spanish at an elementary school in Minneapolis. I am currently teaching after school Spanish classes for kids and adult Spanish classes, tutoring Spanish students in middle and high school and elementary Spanish immersion students in reading skills. I am very comfortable with Spanish grammar and vocabulary and can help students with studying their vocabulary or practice grammatical concepts. I am in the process of gathering many leveled readers for immersion students in the early elementary years and developing activities that go along with those activities.
Also, I am an avid pianist and have much experience accompanying choirs, soloists and other groups. I played piano for the pit orchestra in four different musicals while teaching for St. Francis District. Although I am not a music major, my background in piano (which includes fourteen years of formal instruction) along with my teaching experience make me a great candidate for teaching piano lessons. At this time, I would like to teach beginners, but I would consider teaching higher-level students.
I am an avid pianist. I took lessons for fourteen years. I won the MMTA contest multiple years in middle and high school and participated in the MMTA concerts. I frequently accompany various choirs, soloists and other groups. I have also played piano in the pit orchestra of four different musicals. Although I did not major in music, I am a licensed and experienced K-12 Spanish teacher and can merge these two areas of my life together to be a successful piano teacher.
I am a licensed K-12 Spanish teacher. I started learning Spanish in the eighth grade and continued taking Spanish through college. I studied abroad in Segovia, Spain and taught English at a university in Mexico City.
I was a World Language teacher in a suburban school for four years where I taught eighth graders and one year in Minneapolis where I taught third through sixth graders. I am currently teaching after school Spanish enrichment classes and adult Spanish classes part time.
