Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

History is the story of the influences and effects which people, places, things and ideas have had upon our modern culture. To understand ourselves and our current situation (globally-speaking), we must first seek to comprehend the events which have already transpired. In American history, we desire to understand how that larger overture denoted as "history" has impacted the founding of our country and its course throughout time. In this matter, I hope to bring insight and clarity to the many facets which has shaped our nation into what we now know it to be today.

Anatomy

From the beginning of time, man has been fascinated by the countless wonders hidden within his own body. The endless microcosms of where and how and why our bodies act as they do is entirely enthralling. Whether your student is interested in college-level mastery of the subject or a young sprout just beginning to learn the many fascinating facts about their young bodies, my knowledge of the inner workings of the human body will satisfy even the most curious of seekers.

Biology

The science of life itself, biology has captivated man since the beginning of time. From understanding how a plant derives its energy to the remarkable beauty hidden in a drop of rain to the mind-blowing complexities of a single human cell, biology serves to help mankind comprehend the living world around him. With a basic but thorough understanding of the world of biology, your student can savor the amazing hidden treasures all around them.

Elementary Math

Why does 2 + 2 equal 4? Your student and I will explore basic math concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, as well as fractions and basic equations. Though we will eventually learn to utilize "short-cuts", we will first begin by learning the fundamentals so that your student can realize why short-cuts work. Armed with this basic math knowledge, your young student will be able to tackle mathematical gymnastics with will and determination.

Elementary Science

From the vastness of space to the world right around them, your students will be able to experience a greater understanding of how and why and where things happen. We will explore the rain cycle, basic life cycles, plants, animals and so much more!

Grammar

Did you know that proper grammar can mean the difference between being chosen for a job and your resume being thrown in the trash? I've spent time on hiring committees and common grammar mistakes are a great way to help us weed out potential employees quite quickly! Needless to say, grammar counts! Let me help you overcome your grammar difficulties and teach you reliable measures to ensure you will always write to impress!

NCLEX

I have been a nurse for 2 years. I achieved one of the highest scores available on this examination. Further, I have an exceptional foundation in anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology as well as pharmacology. Thus far, I have tutored four students in this subject and have helped each improve their NCLEX scores.
