I am passionate about education and demonstrate that passion in my work, my volunteer service, and as a life-long learner. I offer more than 25 years of experience teaching (and tutoring students taking) Business courses in higher education, teaching at community colleges and universities (including the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota!). The courses I am knowledgeable in include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Payroll Accounting, Individual Income Tax, Introduction to Business, Legal Environment of Business, Small Business Management, computerized accounting practicums, and Career Planning. My skills include using Microsoft Office software, Blackboard, WebCT, D2L, the Internet, and email. I have files containing dozens (and dozens) of sample accounting problems, quizzes, and exams at various levels of difficulty.
I have a strong record as a caring, ethical, respected professional who works well with a wide variety of students one-on-one or in small groups, including traditional-age college students, adult learners, international students and students with learning difficulties. My communication skills are strong; I have helped many students edit their written papers and prepare oral presentations. Friends, former students, and colleagues have described me as compassionate, hard-working, and very accessible.
