I have been teaching In Georgia but have recently moved to Michigan because of my husbands job.
For the past two years, I have taught EIP Third Grade at Powers Ferry Elementary in Cobb County. This position allowed me to grow as a teacher allowing me to learn how to teach in many different kinds of styles. I have also strengthened my ability to use differentiation and data to their fullest potential in my room.
Before moving to Georgia, I had taught second grade for a Title I school at the District 133 in Chicago. In this position, I have learned patience, classroom management, and the ability to work with minimal supplies.
In 2005, I graduated with honors from Aurora University, having earned my bachelors degree in elementary education. I am currently working on my masters degree in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University and I am expecting to graduate in December 2012. While completing my masters I attained my ESOL endorsement through Kennesaw State University.
My skills include a working knowledge of America’s Choice, Houghton and Mifflin reading curriculum, Open court reading, Saxon Mathematics, Everyday Math, and 6+1 Traits Model for Writing.
