My name is Dina and I am a current undergraduate student at Wayne State University. I am majoring in Nutrition and Food Science, with a minor in Business Administration. I hope to pursue a Masters and a Doctorate in Nutrition, a topic I am most passionate about. This is my last semester at Wayne State University, and I am very excited to pursue higher education in nutrition!
In addition to nutrition, I also have a great understanding of math (algebra, trig) and general chemistry. While in high school, I volunteered as a math tutor in the after-school tutoring program. At Wayne State University, my volunteer work continued as I volunteered in the math department a few times each week to tutor in math (I only helped those students taking general math, algebra, and geometry). The highest math course that I have taken is Pre-Calculus at Wayne State University. In regards to general chemistry, it is another subject that I understand due to the math that is involved. Moreover, I tutored a high school as a volunteer in general chemistry. Both she and her mother believed that the help I provided helped her receive a better grade. My writing skills are also excellent - I am a co-author of a research manuscript that is being reviewed for publication and I also assisted my professor to proofread a manuscript for publication in another journal. In all my courses - algebra, pre-calculus, geometry, English, general chemistry - I have had a grade of "A", both in high school and college.
When I meet students to tutor, I usually ask them what topics they need help. Once finding that information, we work on problems to get rid of the misunderstanding. If I have a heads-up on the topic, I usually bring my old materials which can be very beneficial. Furthermore, I often look up information on my laptop on the spot so that we can solve more problems.
I look forward to meeting and working with you.
