"Let ME help YOU reach your full potential!" ~ Dr. Bekah
While in college, I loved teaching so much that I held "study sessions" for my classmates so that I could help them to learn the information as well. In medical school (and throughout my medical training), I tutored other medical students as it was truly the best way to learn. I enjoy teaching people new things, and I am able to look at the entire picture to determine which methods of learning best suit their needs (i.e. visual, auditory, repetition, drawing, examples, etc.). It is also very important to connect with each individual, so that they know that you have their best interests at heart. A comfortable student is one willing to work hard to learn the material!
As the mother of a 17-year-old high school senior, I have spent many years teaching organizational skills, time management, study techniques and their facilitation, as well as the important impact it has on your educational abilities. I am proud to say that my daughter maintains a 4.25 GPA and is in all Honors and AP classes! She recently interviewed at YALE and DARTMOUTH for undergrad, and I couldn't be more proud! I enjoy working with young adults in high school or college, nursing students, medical students and graduate students.
Holding a doctorate, I have a very strong background in all sciences and math. I enjoy teaching and tutoring nursing classes, as well as medical school classes and am especially enthusiastic about these. I love a challenge! I enjoy working with someone new to find their strengths and build on that, to not only educate them, but boost their confidence and self-esteem as well! This creates an enthusiastic environment for a lifetime of learning. I primarily teach college level and graduate level courses in the scientific arena, however I will work with young adults in high school, especially AP classes, and look forward to meeting your needs as well!
