Through teaching, I have learned that passing knowledge to the next generation is a truly rewarding experience. After I completed my high school, I started tutoring mathematics to other students; although this was over 30 years ago, I still remember the satisfaction I felt when those students graduated high school and went on to pursue college degrees. After my BS and MS degrees in Mathematics, I taught for 12 years in universities in the USA. Currently, I am teaching as an Adjunct College Professor. I also received my MS and PhD degrees in engineering mechanics from the Iowa State University. My combined experiences as a lecturer and a tutor have shown me that being a teacher requires more knowledge and understanding of the subject.
Teaching requires one to be a role model, to convey information in such a ways that every student will understand and to mentor and foster a students learning process. I believe these skills come through practice, and as someone who has been teaching for 30 years, I believe I have an understanding of these skills.
