Hi, my name is Benn. I have been tutoring for several years now, and started out tutoring while at Grand Rapids Community College for their academic support services. Since then I have helped multiple students with their mathematics abilities, both high school and college level. My tutoring style is to focus on the students learning style. Some students learn visually, others by hearing, others by reading or hands on physically figuring things out, or trial and error as they work though the problems. Once I have an idea of how the student learns best I tailor my tutoring style to their needs. Sometimes that involves practice problems I create as we go along, and other times I need to get objects and move them around to help the concept sink into the student's mind. Whatever it takes, I figure it out and then make a lesson work to help the student learn. I currently take my college classes online, so I have a wide range of available times for tutoring sessions except for Sundays because of church activities. References are available as needed.
