I am a Highly Qualified Michigan State Certified teacher. I am currently completing my Master's in Special Education with a concentration in Cognitive Impairments. I enjoy incorporating art activities into each lesson that I teach. I have examples of my work that I can share with parents. I strive to include educational manipulatives into the learning experience. I also have my license available upon request. I assure you that your child will be in good hands working with me. I look forward to speaking with you and hopefully working with your child and making it a not just work, but fun to learn. I believe wholeheartedly that every child can learn. I think that the best feeling in the world for a student, is to be able to confidently take part in the learning experience. I want to be a part of that equation.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taken the national PRAXIS to become certified to teach Special Education from K-6th grade and I do know the subject material in this area. A copy of these scores is available upon request.

Phonics

I have taken a class entitled, "How to Teach Reading to Students with Special Needs" in Winter 2011. I learned how to determine which stage of learning the student is mired in and how to remediate reading deficiencies. Transcripts available upon request.

Autism

As of this summer 2012, I completed course work in a center based program through the University of Michigan-Flint to obtain 360 hours towards my degree in SPED, with a concentration in Cognitive Disabilities. I am aware of the process required for teaching students with autism as well as other DDs. Transcripts available upon request to verify work.
