I have always had a love for numbers. Throughout elementary, junior high, high school, and my college years, math and algebra have always been my favorite subjects. There are so many folks who do not enjoy or appreciate mathematics and algebra, mainly because they do not grasp or have a clear understanding of the concept. My father has always told me that if you have a math background, you can go many places in life. I would like to help anyone who has the desire to want to learn about, or succeed in math and algebra become successful. Not knowing can be scary, but nothing beats a failure except a try.

I have a Bachelor of Business Administration and an Associate of Applied Science degree. I have tutored math, algebra, English, and basic computer. I have always enjoyed learning and love to give back by helping others to succeed.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

In order to succeed in algebra you will need to learn and know the order of operations to simplify an expression with numbers, which will be used in all equations. You will need to know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers. You will need to know the rules for exponents or powers of a base. Commutative, associative, and distributive properties of real numbers are used frequently in algebra. These are the beginning basic rules of algebra.

I cannot express enough how important that it is to know and memorize the basic rules of algebra when you first start to learn algebra. If you do not know and understand the basics in the beginning of the course it will be difficult for you to understand and comprehend the concepts of algebra throughout the course.

My goal is to help you appreciate, understand and succeed in algebra. Algebra is used in everyday life experiences. This can be a great experience when you are comfortable with what you are doing. I would like to help you become comfortable with the experience, by understanding and applying the concepts.
