Because I had a difficult time understanding math skills as a child, I had to become expert at finding other ways of looking at problems. This has made me quite adept at teaching math to youngsters. I can help your struggling and frustrated child see the problem from another angle which often allows them to succeed.

Language arts have always come easily to me, and because I was (and still am)an avid reader, I will be able to bring new authors and genres to your student and hopefully tempt them to read a little more than they currently do. Reading boosts vocabulary. Vocabulary improves their writing. It's all good :)

I'm also an artist. If you feel that your child is not getting the art education he may be craving, I would love to bring line, color, drama, composition, texture and pattern to her.

Thank you for considering me,

Leah

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I went to college to be an Elementary Teacher. I am 4 courses shy of completion and do plan to finish eventually. My minors of study were Science, Language Arts and Art. I have proven myself to be patient, well prepared and no-nonsense. I have taught all elementary subjects as a substitute teacher teacher in the past 8 years.
