I am a math teacher with eight years of teaching experience at secondary level (grades 6-12) in England. Since arriving in the United States, I have familiarized myself with the content of the various middle school and high school courses. I have taught the vast majority of the content of these courses in England. I also have some limited experience of working with younger students and I would be happy to tutor students of all ages.

Algebra 1

I have taught all of the topics covered on Algebra 1 during my teaching career in the UK. This includes order of operations, solving equations and inequalities, graphing functions and interpreting their properties, factoring, solving systems of equations and analyzing data.

I have taught all of the topics covered on Algebra 2 during my teaching career in the UK. This includes solving equations and inequalities, graphing equations and inequalities, scatterplots, matrices, working with polynomials, complex numbers, conic sections, exponential and logarithmic functions and sequences and series.

Calculus

I have taught most of the topics covered on calculus during my teaching career in the UK. This includes differentiation, integration, limits, growth and decay and vectors.

I have over ten years experience working with Excel. I can teach you how to input formulae, how to use conditional formatting and how to use pivot tables. As a qualified teacher I hope to be able to explain all this and more in a way that is both simple and understandable.

Geometry

I have taught all of the topics covered on Geometry during my teaching career in the UK. A lot of my teaching time in England was devoted to students who needed help with this type of problem. By making my explanations simple and clear, the students were able to understand the work and move on to the next topic. Physics

I have extensive teaching experience of mechanics in England. There the course comprises of kinematics, statics, dynamics and momentum. I have also taught modules of finding the centre of equilibrium, elasticity and energy. If you need help with any of these topics then I am well qualified to help you. However, I am not likely to be able to support you with modules that do not overlap with math, for example electricity.

Microsoft PowerPoint

I have used PowerPoint to create presentations throughout my teaching career. I am extremely familiar with the software and as a qualified teacher I should hopefully be able to explain it in an understandable way!

Prealgebra

During my teaching experience in England, a lot of my teaching revolved around the types of problem found on a Pre-algebra course. I can teach you strategies for solving equations, teach you how to work with graphs and how to work with fractions. I am certain that over time, your confidence will build and you will soon be able to tackle all the problems that Pre-algebra can throw at you.

Precalculus

I have taught all of the topics covered on Precalculus during my teaching career in the UK. This includes graphing functions, working with complex numbers, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometry (up to and including trigonometric identities), matrices, sequences and series and conic sections.

Trigonometry

I have extensive experience of teaching trigonometry at high school level in England. I have taught all of the topics found within this course, including graphing trigonometric functions, using identities to solve equations, law of sines and cosines, complex numbers, exponential and logarithmic functions and parabolas, ellipses and hyperbolas. I am confident that I will be able to help you to better understand all of these topics.

Statistics

In England the content of an American Statistics course would be covered during the junior and senior years of high school. I have extensive experience teaching in this age range. I have taught probability and probability distributions, sampling, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression, chi-squared testing. I have studied the other topics found on a Statistics course, and feel confident that I would be able to help with them, but I have not previously taught them.

SAT Math

As a non-American, I have not taken an SAT Math test. However, I have familiarized myself with the content of an SAT Math test. I have taught all of the material on the course in England. In England I specialized in working with students who knew they could succeed in math, but just needed some extra help. If you are struggling with the SAT Math test, I am confident I can help you improve both your understanding and your score.

I can offer support with all aspects of the test, but especially math. I am a qualified math teacher with eight years of teaching experience in England.

Probability

I have extensive experience of teaching probability in England. I have taught all the major topics, beginning with simple probability and continuing right through until the different probability distributions. I am confident that I will be able to help you to better understand all of these topics.

As a non-American, I have not taken an ACT Math test. However, I have familiarized myself with the content of an ACT Math test. I have taught all of the material on the course in England. In England I specialized in working with students who knew they could succeed in math, but just needed some extra help. Elementary Math

Most of my eight years teaching experience in England was teaching students aged 11 to 18. However, I enjoy teaching math to students of all ages and abilities. My idea is to keep math simple, clear and understandable. Eventually, over time, students will see their confidence with math begin to build.
