I am a math teacher with 10 years of teaching experience. I am currently teaching at a high school, but have extensive experience teaching both middle school and high school math.

I have now been a tutor for a year, working with several students of differing ages and abilities. I believe my strength as a tutor is being able to explain difficult concepts in a way that makes them easily understandable. As a result, I have seen each of my students grow in confidence from their very first session. Increased confidence is the key to success in math; a more confident student will approach problems with a “can do” attitude and be more likely to succeed.

I would be happy to work with students of all ages. I am able to tutor elementary, middle and high school math, as well as help you prepare for standardized tests. I am available to tutor in the evenings and on weekends. In addition, I am available daily during school breaks.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I usually respond within a couple of hours.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I have experience tutoring the math portion of the ACT test, working with students of differing abilities. Whether you are struggling to boost your score or aiming for perfection, I can help you boost your math knowledge and your test taking skills. We will work together to identify any weaknesses and then work towards giving you the confidence to succeed.

I teach Geometry in a local high school. I am very familiar with the concepts and can help students master the basics and build their confidence in this subject. I would also be delighted to work with honors students to further develop their skills and provide more challenging questions. I am also an Algebra II teacher, so I can help prepare students for the next course, particularly any trigonometry work.

Prealgebra

I have experience tutoring students of differing abilities on all aspects of the Pre-Algebra course. This course is an essential building block for Algebra 1 and 2 and I will make sure that you have the confidence and the ability to succeed not only this year but also in the years ahead.

Great Tutor — My daughter saw Jack for the first time. She really likes him and said he taught her how to do Algebra 1 a little quicker. She seems to understand it better after her lesson with him. She has a quiz today so we will see! I got a hold of him on a Tuesday because my daughter had a very important quiz on Thursday. He saw her right away on Wednesday. Thanks so much Jack for caring and helping my daug ...
