My teaching experiences over the past 13 years have been focused on home-schooling, as well as career planning and college general education tutoring. Outside of the "classroom" I have been working to bridge some gaps between home-schooling, traditional education, and the technological world through two blogs, as well as publishing several online articles on multiple facets of education from pre-primary to post-secondary topics.
I began my tutoring experience 5 years ago, and have really found my niche. I love to work one-on-one with students because you can meet the student exctly where he is and provide the needed support to get him to where he wants to (or should) be.
My teaching style is unique as I try to help my students connect their lessons to everyday life, bringing education and fun together, and encouraging students to think outside-of-the-box. I use everyday experience to make the lessons more applicable to students' lives and goals. My focus is predominantly on finding connections the students can use in order to use their abilities to strengthen their weaknesses.
I also hold a bachelors degree in Social Science w/a concentration in education. This is much more than a random eduction degree, however. The course work involved vast research andtraining into the pschological and sociological background to learning. So I use this knowedge to help me provide the best suppports to meet the students specific needs.
