I worked in the corporate world for most of my adult life, and returned to college to earn my degree in Education after all of our children had graduated from college. I am certified in the state of Michigan to teach English, as well as Speech-grades 6-12.

I have a passion for English Language Arts-literature and writing-and enjoy any opportunity to enable students to share in the joy of discovering themselves through literature.

I have a deep well of compassion and patience when working with young people and I am committed to enabling them to achieve self-esteem through achieving academic success.

I am a believer in the concept of "disguised learning" in which students are engaged in the act of learning with pleasure and interest in the work they are doing.

I have used this philosophy in teaching with great success at all grade levels-I have designed and presented Creative Writing Workshops for grades K-12, and taught English Language Arts at 11th and 12th grade levels, as well as middle school.

I cherish my students and work hard to find learning experiences that will engage and inspire them.
