My name is Ms. Mary D. and I am a middle school Math and Science teacher in Warren, Michigan. This is my eighth year of teaching. Prior to teaching in Michigan I taught 7th and 8th grade Mathematics, Algebra 1, in Las Vegas Nevada. I became certified in Algebraic Thinking in 2007. I also taught Algebra 2 in Ferndale’s summer school program for two years. I am passionate about teaching and building student confidence in the subject. Let me help your child develop a love and understanding for math!
I graduated from the University of Michigan with high distinction in April 2006. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-8 with majors in Mathematics and Science. During my time at college I also worked in the math tutoring lab. My teaching strategies include hands-on manipulatives and individualized instruction along with the district's curriculum. I relate each concept to their lives to bring meaning to their learning. I am enthusiastic about inspiring your student to feel more confident and competent with math. I have high expectations for myself and my students and create a healthy and productive learning experience.
