I am very good with kids of all ages. I have been working with students from 5th grade through students over 65 years old and everything between. I have been tutoring since 2002 and have never stopped. The one on one teaching is my passion and is the reason I became a teacher. I am not a teacher who is willing to tutor, but a tutor who is willing to teach. My students are never disappointed and I can provide letters of recommendation from any of my current or past students any time.
Over the last five years, I have been focusing on expanding my flexibility by incorporating online tutoring when it fits the students lives better.
I have great success for working with students with ADD and ADHD. Teaching high school I found these students to be generally well motivated by physical activity and consistently changing the modality of the students receiving the information. This is done by a well organized presentation that keeps the students knowing what to expect even though each lesson is different and only presented to the students specific needs. Parents of ADD / ADHD student will need to be more open to “unique methods” since the traditional setting is typically not a very good setting for the student to find success. Every ADD/ADHD student I have had has been extremely satisfied with their lessons and their abilities to apply tutoring sessions to the class room and find success.

I am available for online tutoring in this subject if needed to supplement our in-person sessions.

I have taught precalculus for the past 5 years and am more than confident that tutoring calculus students is well within my skill set. Many ideas in calculus are a built upon precalculus concepts and I often find that students needing calculus tutoring also need a good refresher on some precalculus concepts they did not have a full grasp on.
I am highly skilled taking the complex concepts, including elaborate multi-step problems, and making the content simple to understand. I have some very clever methods of expressing complex concepts that have proven to be very helpful to many chemistry students.
I am currently teaching a "Lego" engineering, science, and mathematics class to students in 4th - 8th grade. I work well with elementary students in tutoring settings because I am patient and allow them to "explore" their way of doing things. I am always open to new and creative ways to solve any problem. I love the joy and excitement that this age of students bring.
I very much enjoy helping students prepare for the GED. The GED gives an opportunity to take many educational concepts and apply them to real world situations. GED tutoring is typically very enjoyable as we incorporate many alternative learning strategies throughout many lessons.
I am an advanced computer used who is very comfortable doing hardware upgrades, installing and uninstalling any software, and I often aid the IT department with any company that I work for. I have all the training for the A+ Certification and am well versed in many computer languages and web design. I greatly prefer the Free Open office Suit program to the expensive Microsoft Suit, however I am fluent in both as well as Mac and Linux systems.

I have many active statistics clients and rather enjoy the course. There are a few concepts that need to be presented in the classroom a specific way, but some minor additions to the in class information has proven to substantially increase student comprehension. All of my stats students are very satisfied and only regret not hiring me sooner.
I have taught Trigonometry as part of a Pre-Calc class for 5 years and tutored for the past 8 years. Students should have a solid understanding of basic Trig introduced in Algebra 2 concepts in order to be successful.

Great Tutor! — Matthew was very helpful when I was studying for my finite math final exam. I was struggling in the class and Matthew was willing to meet right away. He was extremely accommodating when scheduling our sessions. I met with Matthew 8 times before taking my exam. He broke things down and really simplified them.
