I worked in a daycare for 3 and a half years while going to college. While I was there, I worked with all age groups between 6 weeks to school age children. I provided care and safety to all children. Also, I taught basic sign language, colors, numbers, and names and sounds of animals to the infants. I also assisted in creating fun learn activities for the toddlers and preschoolers there. While in college, I also volunteered for a HOSTS program in an elementary school. I worked individually with 3rd grade students enhancing reading skills, vocabulary, and spelling. While finishing my Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, I did an internship at Terra Community College with the ElderCollege Program. After college, I babysat for a few months and then began working at a Halfway House. I work with the Residents on helping them find employment, filling out resumes, etc. I also facilitate classes on the basics of finding employment and also a class on budgeting money, saving money, online banking, etc. While I enjoy my job at the halfway house, my passion is helping children and young adults succeed.
