I am a retired Special Education teacher of emotionally and mentally impaired students, with a Masters degree from University of Michigan. As such, I taught just about every subject at the elementary and middle-school level. I strongly believe everyone learns differently, and therefore feel that individualized instruction is the only way to go with remedial work.

In the course of my 20 years in Special Education, I taught Reading and Study Skills to many students - both elementary and middle school.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified Special Education teacher in the state of Michigan. My Bachelor of Science degree included extensive course work and certification in Elementary Education as well as student teaching on that level in a regular classroom. While most of my classroom teaching of twenty years was on a middle-school level, I did teach elementary school one year and, certainly while in middle school, reviewed and remediated elementary level subject matter in all subjects with my students.

Phonics

In the course of my 20 years in Special Education, I taught Reading and Study Skills to many students - both elementary and middle school. My reading instruction included phonics as well as other methods.

Study Skills
