It is very important that the tutor has different strategies set up for each student. This is important because as they move along in school, they can take these strategies with them and use them later down the road in their learning career.
It is important that every tutor can understand and become aware of the needs of every student. My decision to teach didn’t come overnight, but one of many reasons I decided to go into teaching was being able to have the opportunity to figure out the connection that takes place with learning in the classroom. I wanted to be a part of the learning process of every student. I enjoy helping students learn new things and build comprehension skills which helps them succeed at all different levels.
I have been a Work-Study tutor for the past 11 years within the classroom. I have worked with many elementary students in all subject areas. I have recently graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.
The most rewarding for me is when the smiles of excitement happen because students figure out how something connects with another.
