My name is Arie. I have had the pleasure of tutoring both children and adults for almost 20 years. I was the Hebrew teacher for a small congregation in Florida. I was also a certified Civilian Lay Leader for the United states Navy. When we were without a Rabbi, I was the lay Rabbi and Cantor for the congregation. I was also the Bar/Bat Mitzvah students. I prepared more than 60 students for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. I lived in Israel for over 20 years. I am also a veteran of the IDF. I also was a traveling Bar/Bat Mitzvah teacher. I traveled to areas of isolated Jewish families in northern Florida and southern Georgia for 5 years teaching and preparing children and adults for their Bar Mitzvah. I performed the 1st bar Mitzvah in one Georgia city.
I teach students by determining what they are interested in, such as baseball or doll collecting. I prepare my lessons to include their interests. By using something the student can connect to, the interest is found and the lessons succeed. I do not believe in the use of tapes as the way to learn. If the child likes what he or she hears or sees, they will connect with the lesson and be motivated for more and more. I also taught the deaf and blind and special needs children.
If you are going to Israel, you need my help. Do you want to understand what the cab driver is saying? Do you want to be able to read the signs? Do you want to be able to ask the shop keeper about an item you want to buy? Do you want to be able to ask where a certain street is?You need my assistance. I can prepare you for conversational Hebrew in a relatively short time, depending on how much you want to learn.
My rates are more than competitive. Please contact me and let's get going.
