Hello my name is Jessica and I'm looking forward to being your math tutor.
Math has always been an important part of my education. After graduating from high school, I choose to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics with a specialization in Physics from Michigan State University. I studied courses such as:
Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Calculus 4, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Abstract Analysis, Ordinary Differential Equations, Discrete Mathematics I, Financial Mathematics, Theory of Interest, Directed Study (focusing on a AAA Risk Classification Project), Mathematics Capstone Course, Probability and Statistics for Engineers, and Actuarial Models.
My cumulative grade point average was 3.8727/4.0 and I graduated from college in May of 2003.
Since graduating from Michigan State University, I have worked in the insurance industry for nearly 8 years as an Actuary in both the United States and the United Kingdom. I passed Exam P/1 in February 2006 through the Society of Actuaries/Casualty Actuarial Society. Additionally, I hold a Master of Arts in Acting (International) qualification from one of the leading drama schools in the United Kingdom, East 15 Acting School (backed by the University of Essex).
I have enjoyed tutoring various levels of math students professionally in the past. For instance, I have tutored students anywhere from gifted high school students in a program called CHAMPS through Michigan State University, through to elementary students in subjects such as math, spelling and grammar.
As far as teaching style, I'm pretty flexible and will adapt my tutoring to suit the various needs of each individual student. I look forward to hearing from you.
