I was a Biology major and Geology (Earth Science) minor at GVSU. I worked as teaching assistant for the Geology Department, including tutoring. I assisted with grading for Biology Department. I have taught at the college level in other field of study. Favorite areas of study in Biology are Botany and Ecology, but I have had courses in Genetics, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Vertebrate (wildlife) History, General Biology, and Evolution. In Geology, I particularly enjoy Paleontology, Physical Geology and Historical Geology. I have assisted in nature walks and on field trips. I am a naturalist, with a great love of the outdoors. I believe in doing as much "hands on" with a student as possible. I have several books, including texts that can be used to supplement my tutoring.
I am a mom and have raised two sons. The younger son starts college this year in Pre-Med, and the other is studying Botany, so I feel qualified to pass on what I've shared/taught them. I can check emails regularly to help students with questions between sessions.
