I have earned two degrees from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Finance. Through my own coursework and my experiences as a tutor, I have gained extensive knowledge in the subjects of algebra, statistics, and calculus.
I have tutored students for over three years. I have tutored students in Ann Arbor and Dearborn, as well as Oakland University. I have tutored a variety of subjects: economics, finance, calculus, pre-calc, statistics, public policy, business strategy, and marketing. I have tutored students at all college levels, including business executives in pursuit of their Master's degree. Many students continue to utilize my services through successive semesters while they complete their program. In addition to tutoring, I provide independent business and strategy consultation/development to local businesses and entrepreneurs.
My tutoring philosophy is to help students find the simplicity behind any problem. I have focused on finding simple and effective ways for students to not only understand the problems at hand, but understand the theories and concepts that provide the structure for any problem. Armed with this knowledge, students find that approaching any problem becomes easier and more intuitive. I believe this ultimately offers students an increased level of self confidence and speed during an exam, resulting in higher grades.
My goal is to enroll into a PhD program in economics, teaching economics and business in a way that actually makes sense and is easy to understand. This is my passion and my students appreciate my commitment and the advantage it gives them during tutoring sessions. I believe everyone has immense potential and given the right circumstances, are able to access this potential and achieve their goals. Everyone learns in different ways and I find it a worthy goal to figure out a way to help someone grow intellectually. I strive to find ways for students to have a greater passion for the subject and find ways to incorporate learning techniques and strategies not only for test time, but throughout life. I see tutoring as a chance to not only help someone learn, but to help them organize their thoughts and behaviors to achieve their goals and deliver lasting results.
