I tutor chemistry and math. I love helping students understand complex problems and ideas. I have taught high school chemistry and math in the public school system and have a BA in chemistry. I presently work in the Detroit Public School system and spend most of my time tutoring students in the (EAA) Education Achievement Authority.
I believe learning should be fun. I therefore make my time with students fun and upbeat. My goal is that my student enjoys the learning experience so much that he or she becomes an excited life long learner.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Basketball

I coached girls varsity basketball for three years in the public school system. Over the years I have also coached YMCA 4th grade boys, along with 5th and 6th grade boys basketball at a private school.

Elementary (K-6th)

I did the class work in education so I could teach. I taught high school chemistry, physics, algebra II and physical science. I also have two of my own children that I helped with home schooling. My daughter is 15 and still home schooling.

Organic Chemistry

I have a BA in chemistry and taught high school chemistry for 3 years.

Public Speaking

I earned a master's in divinity. This qualified me to serve as a pastor in nearly any denomination across the world. During that time at Asbury Seminary, I took multiple classes in sermon preparation and public speaking. I then served for 31 years as a pastor, preparing and delivering speeches weekly. I have worked with professional staff to help them write and deliver speeches. I was also active in a group call Toastmasters. Toastmasters is a civic group that helps people become better public speakers. I won several awards at their contests.
