I am a high school math teacher, certified to teach math and history for grades 6-12. I have been teaching for the past 4 years. I was a substitute teacher for many years while earning my teaching degree. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in non-profit financial management, which has helped me make connections between math and the "real world" for my students. As a student at NYU, I was a tutor for financial management. I was also a teaching assistant at the University of Michigan.
I believe that students learn best when lead through the discovery process by teacher-directed questioning. I believe that students need to know the "why" as well as the "how" when it comes to math. I am patient, and enjoy working one-on-one with students.
I have passed the background checks necessary to be a public school teacher.
