I am currently a "voluntarily retired" certified math teacher (since Aug 2011). I worked for Flint Community Schools from 1993 to 2011. I began my education career as a guest (substitute) teacher. I have helped many students learn and retain math concepts which prepared them for their next course. Courses include the following: pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2, algebra intervention, geometry 1 & 2, and trigonometry. I have also taught other courses during my tenure, such as music, computer skills, health, and general science.
I have tutored in afterschool programs sponsored by our district and others, as well as assisted special needs students achieve success via individualized help. I would like to share my knowledge with students (middle school through college) who are "really" seeking help. Although mathematics proves to be a challenge for many students, I believe I have the necessary skill set it takes to motivate and inspire them to achieve the growth needed to proceed to their next level.
