My name is Amy and I graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education as a Spanish major and history minor. I am a certified teacher with experience tutoring college students in beginning Spanish. I frequently tutored high school students after-school throughout my student teaching experience. I am very passionate about teaching, patient and understanding. English is my native language and I continue to educate myself in the Spanish language and culture. I have shared the frustrations that many beginning Spanish speakers have experienced and I've learned how to overcome them. It is rewarding for me when I can help others overcome those obstacles so that they too can become very comfortable with the language. Knowing Spanish will undoubtedly increase the opportunities for success in the educational and occupational spectrum. I work with students of all ages in a public, but quiet, meeting place to work on such things as pronunciation, verbal and written comprehension and understanding of grammatical concepts. More emphasis will be placed in a particular area based on student needs. I am also willing and able to tutor students in English, reading and English grammar, which are subjects that I studied throughout my education and am very proficient in.
